Fall'ing Into Generosity
Donating Blood Is Generous
On Tuesday, September 26th, Rooted Generosity joined the Boundary Bay Brewery community blood drive and registered a total of 15 donors! BloodWorks NW was able to collect 13 units of whole blood. Since each unit of whole blood is separated into the different components (red cells, platelets, and plasma,) our efforts will benefit as many as 39 patients in hospitals they serve. The blood donations collected at the blood drive are critical to maintain a stable blood supply for surgeries, medical emergencies, and for supporting patients battling life-threatening illnesses like leukemia and other cancers in our community. Thank you to all who participated.
Each day, 800 people must donate blood to meet the needs of patients in hospitals.
Our blood drive played an important role in helping them meet that goal.
Hot Dogs For Sale
On Tuesday, Oct. 3rd, Rooted Generosity helped to cook and serve up delicious hot dogs. We volunteered at the Lynden HS Back to School Night BBQ. The donations to the BeTheOne Hope Campaign will help fund a full-time mentor coordinator at Lynden MS. The goal is to match each mentor and mentee on the wait list. Our help was greatly appreciated.
Serving is Generous.
