Dodge Generously

On May 20, exciting dodgeball teams gathered to give generously. They played vigorous rounds of the cut-throat sport for a cause – to raise funds for the Jordan Slagle Boundary Bay Scholarship, and for the continued community service efforts of Rooted Generosity.

The Bellingham Sportsplex was filled with laughter, sweat, grit, and determination. This yearly fundraising event was one that Jordan enjoyed participating in during past years, when he led dogged efforts to mount a winning team from Boundary Bay. His team mates from years past formed a new team this year, and played alongside of determined athletes from across the county.

The teams and their supportive fans enjoyed generosity from many event supporters. Lead sponsor, Boundary Bay, furnished a refreshing brew for the Beer Garden. Significant support from Wally’s Barbershop (Jordan’s choice for winning hair care) and Bellingham’s own, Hardware Sales, made the day possible. Happy Chap Creative Company, a truly generous local design and PR firm, spread the word about the event. Attendees and fans came away with raffle prizes from over 50 community businesses and organizations.
